Filippa was born in Palermo and she is the youngest of a whole generation of musicians.
Thanks to her father, baritone and her mother, mezzosoprano, Filippa grew up in the Opera world following her parents. She studies both vocal techniques for Belcanto and pop.
She also studied ballet at the National Academy of Rome and took private lessons with New York Actor’s Studio teachers.
Thank to talent scout Caterina Caselli, Filippa releases her first Operapop eponimus album.
She later launches 6 more albums with Warner Classics UK and Sony Music, containing Opera arias and original songs written for her by great composers (Ennio Morricone,
David Foster, Robin Smith, Cristina Muti, Mark Portmann, Claudia Brant,
Francesco Sartori e Lucio Quarantotto), accompained by great orchestras such as the London Simphony and the BBC Orchestra and arranged by Grammy Award winners producers. The albums reaches the top of classical music charts around the world and receive multiple Gold Records.
She wins the 2nd prize at Sanremo Festival in the “new talents” category and becomes the honor guest in many TV shows of the year such as “David di Donatello” where she performs, for the best movie soundtrack award the song of “900” by Giuseppe Tornatore. A couple of years later she participates again at the Sanremo Festival in the “celebrities” category.
She is the honored guest at the first edition of the “British Classical Awards” at Royal Albert Hall in London.
She inaugurates the Maria Callas Museum at the Metropolitan Theatre in New York and Mayor Michael Bloomberg gives a special event in her honor.
She is invited, on direct request of HRH Prince Charles of England to hold a concert for His annual “PRINCE´S TRUST GALA DINNER” and, a few months later, the Mayor of New York Michael Bloomberg organized a dinner at his house in her honor.
She wins an “Echo Klassik Award” in Germany in the category “Music without borders”.
She is invited by Mr. Mohammed Al Fayed for the opening of the famous “HARRODS SALES” in London, coming after names like Cher, Sophia Loren, Raquel Welch and Christina Aguilera.
She performed for Dino De Laurentis, celebrating the Thalberg Prize for his career in Los Angeles . On the same occasion she sang accompanied by M. Ennio Morricone on the piano, in order to celebrate his Academy Award nominee for the G. Tornatore’s movie “Malena”.
Later, Ennio Morricone invites her as honor guest of his Japanese Tour.
They also collaborate for the animation movie, “Aida degli alberi” where Filippa is Aida’s singing voice and also performs a duet with Mick Hucknell from Simply Red.
In Japan the song she wrote, “When I come back home”, reached the 2nd position on the Hot 100 Chart on the radio, following Madonna’s hit “Hang Up.
She records the main song for the movie “Vajont” scored by Francesco Sartori.
She sings for Pope John Paul II in 4 occasions, including the Jubilee and “Natale in Vaticano”.
She sings the “Ave Maria” for the Columbus Day Parade at St. Patrick’s Church in New York.
She is also invited to participate at the traditional Mexican “Mañanitas” for The Virgin of Guadalupe, after recording the main song “Flor y Canto” for the movie “Guadalupe”.
She’s invited twice by the Knights of Columbus to celebrate the Virgin of Guadalupe at the Jobbing Arena in Phoenix and later at the Coliseum stadium in Los Angeles.
She is invited by Cristina Muti to hold a concert during the prestigious “Ravenna’s Festival”.
She is one of the artists (Pavarotti, Sting, Blondie, Dalla) to perform in the album called “Cinema Italiano”, an homage to the best Italian movies melodies, where she recorded the song “Fratello Sole e Sorella Luna” in duet with flautist Andrea Griminelli and produced by Academy Award winner Luis Bacalov.
She sings with Frida from the legendary group “ABBA”, the aria “La Barcarolle” from The Hoffmann Tales.
She also collaborates with Academy Award winner Vangelis in Athens for a special interpretation of the Napolitan song Torna a Sorrento.
With her stylish image, she’s a fashion icon in many countries thank to the collaboration with important Italian designers such as Giorgio Armani and Salvatore Ferragamo’s family who created her looks.
She sang for the 25th Italian Cinema “Gold Efebo” where Ettore Scola and Gabriele Salvadores were rewarded.

She is invited to sing the USA National Anthem by California Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger for the opening of “The Women Conference” where thousands of personalities attended (honor guest the Dalai Lama).
She tours and performs in the biggest and most prestigious venues around the world obtaining wonderful revues in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain, England, Swiss, Netherland, Hungary, Check Republic, Australia, Thailand, Korea, Colombia, United States.
In Mexico she performs at most important venues like the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City (receiving for 4 different shows, the nomination for ‘Best Show of the Year’ at the LUNAS) .
For the Italian 150th unification anniversary, she sings at the Mexico City Opera Theatre “Bellas Artes”: “Filippa surpassed even the highest expectations of most purists Opera lovers offering them a great performance following the classical tradition of Belcanto”.
